About Cinematic Scripture – Engaging Film Through a Biblical Lens

Meet Cyle – My Story

Hi, I’m Cyle.

With a degree in Bible and Theology and nearly a decade in ministry, I could read and teach Scripture—but I couldn’t see how it all fit together. I could preach Leviticus, but I couldn’t explain how it connected to the grand story of redemption.

Everything changed when I began studying screenwriting.

Over 40% of the Bible is written in narrative, using many of the same storytelling techniques found in modern film and TV. As I began to notice the patterns of structure, tension, arcs, and transformation, Scripture came alive for me. I no longer saw it as a collection of disconnected books—I saw it as one cohesive, redemptive story, centered on Jesus.

That shift transformed my faith, gave me more confidence to share the Gospel, and changed how I engaged with stories everywhere. Now, I help others make that same shift—equipping people to see Scripture and storytelling with fresh eyes and renewed faith.

📖 Your next chapter begins with learning to see stories through this lens.

Why Cinematic Scripture Exists

Stories are powerful. Whether told through ancient parables or blockbuster screenplays, they shape worldviews, spark conversations, and stir the soul.

Cinematic Scripture exists to equip you with a biblical framework for interpreting modern storytelling, so you can engage culture with discernment, depth, and faithfulness.

You won’t just learn to “evaluate movies.”
You’ll learn to ask deeper questions.

  • What kind of world is this story showing me?
  • What kind of transformation is it claiming is possible?
  • What truth—or distortion—is it communicating?

This journey is grounded in the Three-Question Framework:

  1. What Realm is the Story Set In?
(Darkness, Transition, or Kingdom—each reveals a different moral foundation.)
  2. Is the Theme Redemptive?
(Does the story reflect transformation or reinforce brokenness?)
  3. Does the Story Communicate Truth or Lies?
(According to a biblical worldview, what is being taught?)

This isn’t about labeling content—it’s about learning to see clearly.
